Karyn Stetz has a BFA in Painting and Graphic Design from Eastern Michigan University. She has exhibited in several shows, both group and solo. As an interdisciplinary artist, Karyn has a background in Photography, Painting, Digital, Graphic Design, Fiber, and Installation. She considers herself a process artist as she utilizes several different media during the course of a project and, depending on the inspiration and direction each work takes her, different "final" artworks are achieved.
Exploring and experimenting with the boundaries of painting, photography, and digital works are at the core of her process. Either in photography or plain air painting. she often begins with the landscape, As she works, her processes create new processes and the work path begins to evolve on its own, creating new directions to explore. Each work is often further manipulated and becomes a birthing process of fractals from the original pure photo or painting. Keeping the creative input open and unlimited aids in her experimentation of working in a process driven manner; openness to experiment also keeps her exploring to find unexpected results in work process that open new pathways to creation.
